Rustic Cuts is a fast expanding chain of high quality butcheries that deal in farm fresh meats and upscale cuts. With expanding outlets across multiple locations, the company needed a unified system that could connect its Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions with its ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

The aim was to cut down on manual labor, avoid inventory discrepancy, and make shopping experience hassle free both in store and with wholesale purchasers. Rustic Cuts collaborated with APPSeCONNECT to make business run in real time and create a more connected business environment.

Before APPSeCONNECT: The Square POS counted store sales, which needed to be added manually to Business Central at a later stage.

  1. Product & Price Sync
    Information about products and price lists of Business Central was exported to Square POS.

Result: There was uniformity in terms of items and prices in all stores.

2. Inventory Sync
Business Central provided updated inventory to Square POS.

Result: All the outlets possessed the correct information regarding available inventory.

3. Sales Transaction Sync
Sales and transactions recorded at the store level were automatically posted to Business Central.

Result: Quick reconciliation and better financial accuracy.

4. Customer Account Sync
Customer information was synchronized both ways between Square and Business Central.

Result: Single view of each customer, without duplication.

5. Payment Reconciliation
The Square Sales and payments were automatically posted to the Business Central General Ledger.

Result: No manual posting, faster closing of daily accounts.

The Implementation Journey

Integration was fast and had minimum effect to the operations in the stores. The synchronization modules were also tested in different stores and the system began showing results as soon as it went live.
