Shopify has arranged, hosted and has been involved in a number of international eCommerce events. This time, in 2017, it was time for India to be the part of the ever-growing Shopify community and help in contributing towards better and innovative ways for online businesses.

The event – A Day with Shopify, Bangalore – has been the first official Shopify event in India. The event was scheduled on the 3rd of November 2017 at The Vivanta, Bangalore.

A Day with Shopify was a partner focused initiative by Shopify which attracted around 200 attendees from some of the best web development and app development agencies. Some of the Shopify team members attended the event as well to make it a success and provide valuable insights on how Shopify can solve eCommerce challenges with its innovative and futuristic ideas.

Joel Bronkowski (International partnerships, Shopify) was the MC for the day.

Brennan Bloh, Director of International Markets, Team India Lead, talked on the Shopify Keynote and put forward how we could improve the Shopify community all across the globe. Brennan showed us some amazing stats on the Shopify ecosystem.

We also had Vargab Bakshi, Head of Partnerships and Business Development for Asia Pacific from Shopify with us who led the panel discussion with two of the leading Shopify Partners from India – Binary and Kloc technologies (see below).

Jayesh from Binary and Abhisarika from Kloc Technologies talked about the best practices in developing and managing client relationships with merchants in Shopify. They shared tips on lead generation, and what Indian merchants look for and how agencies can best support them.

Piers Thorogood (Co-founder of We Make Websites) shared some amazing tips on starting and growing a web agency. Spoke about his journey of making We Make Websites one of the leading Shopify Expert agencies.

The involvement of the Shopify team as well as the influencers in the event proves to be a total game-changer since it has been able to motivate and influence people more with the idea that Shopify is one of the most reliable and efficient eCommerce platforms today – which can fulfill the business requirements of any company. This has been the first time when Shopify has arranged for an international event in India and we may expect more such events to follow since it has already been a great show – the event has been of a great help to the Shopify partners in India who can now better educate and influence businesses to use Shopify as their perfect eCommerce solution. This event has marked the new beginning of opportunities to the overall ecommerce community in India and the Shopify ecosystem all across the globe at large.
